Obituary

H.V. Roberts was born October 11, 1924 in Porter, Oklahoma to Henry Sylvester and Retta Mae (Tacker) Roberts. A lifelong Porter resident, H. V. graduated from Porter High School. He married his wife, Mildred, on June 30, 1945.  H. V. was a good friend to many and enjoyed helping out people any time he could. H. V. was a rancher with both cattle and horses and enjoyed roping for many years.  Another favorite pastime was reading.

H.V. departed this life Monday, January 23, 2017 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma at 92 years of age.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Roberts; his parents; three brothers, Maner Roberts, Murray Roberts, and Garner Roberts and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Webb.

Survivors include two daughters, Treva McClung of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Dian Kidd and her husband, Robert, of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters, Kathryn Kidd of Houston, Texas and Sarah Foster and husband, Pat, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a grandson, Jason McClung and wife, Carmia, of Porter, Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Porter, Oklahoma.  Officiating will be the Reverend Dennis Piearcy.  Pallbearers will be Roy Cole, Cole Phillips, Brent Roberts, Kevin Roberts, Brian Robertson and W. C. Walker.
