Obituary

The celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. at Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will be on Tuesday, February 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, OK.

Ida Marie Freeman was born August 15, 1928 in Ozark, Arkansas, one of ten children born to Alvy Jesse McMath and Flora Rene (McCollum) McMath. She married Clyde Wesley Freeman on January 6, 1947 in Oswego, KS, and they enjoyed a life together for 47 years until his death in 1994. They were long time members of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Wagoner, OK.

After their son, Clyde Donald Freeman was a teenager, Ida began working at Haney's Five and Dime on Main Street in Wagoner. She later became a CNA and was employed at Ross Nursing Home for many years.

Ida loved being outdoors. She always raised a garden to enjoy the homegrown vegetables and was never without chickens to raise and watch. She loved her dogs as well, including Rescue and her favorite, Lucky.

Ida dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. They will miss her greatly, and will cherish their many memories of her love for them.

Ida departed this life Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Leisure Village Health Care Center in Tulsa, OK at the age of 93 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Freeman; her parents, Alvy and Flora McMath; 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her son, Clyde Donald Freeman and wife, Paula of Muskogee, OK; two granddaughters, Donett Freeman of Wagoner, OK and Nicole Freeman of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren, Derrick Roland of Oklahoma City, OK, Patrick Freeman of Wagoner, OK, Danielle Roland of St. Louis, MO, DeAndre Freeman of Jenks, OK, Kevin Freeman of Tulsa, OK and Brianna Vaughn of Tulsa, OK; great-great-grandchildren, Jordan Roberson, Ace Roland, Kaysen Roland, Dalyila Deville, Serenity Freeman, Alexander Freeman and Ary Edwards; two brothers, Luther McMath and Charles McMath; four sisters, Bonnie Wheeler, Patsy Graham, Hazel Marquette and Lois Seals; other extended family and friends.
