Vermillion
January 26, 1944 – August 13, 2022
Iva Alene Vermillion, 78, of Barnsdall went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday morning, August 13 th , 2022 with her son at her bedside holding her hand.
Alene was born Iva Alene Copeland to Henry and Uretta Copeland on January 26 th 1944 in Hulbert, Oklahoma. She graduated from Hulbert High School where at her graduation she met the love of her life, Lonnie D. Vermillion. The two were married September 25 th , 1962. They made their home in Bartlesville where they raised three sons. Then after retirement they moved to Wagoner. Shortly after the death of her husband she moved with her son and his family to Barnsdall where she lived out her final years.
Alene was known for being quite the seamstress. She made a lot of her own clothes and enjoyed making shirts for her grandson, Jesse Vermillion.
She was a kind, compassionate, loving, and generous person that loved and was loved dearly by those who were around her. She was also very strong willed and when it became obvious that she need to be in a nursing home, she only agreed to go with the condition that her daughter-in-law and best friend, Jenny Vermillion, came every day and continued to take care of her which she did every day as promised.
Alene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, and a great grandson.
She is survived by two brothers; a sister; and three sons, Lonnie Dale Vermillion and his wife, Jenny, of Barnsdall; Lee Vermillion and his wife, Isaura, of Wagoner; and Glenn Vermillion and his wife, Francia, of Bartlesville. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
The funeral service honoring Alene's life will be at 2 p.m on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be on Thursday, August 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
