Obituary

Jack Limon, a lifelong resident of Wagoner County, passed away on Monday, June 19. Jack spent his 93 years on this earth living a "beautiful, beautiful" life. After serving on the USS Franklin in World War II he returned home to Choska Bottoms and continued in his father's footsteps as a farmer. From humble beginnings, Jack's strong work ethic grew the operation into something that helped provide for his family long beyond his time in the fields. Along with farming, he served in leadership roles for several bank boards and professional organizations. His dedication to the farming industry, specifically soybeans, and the communities surrounding his home garnered him several prestigious recognitions, including Progressive Farmer's "Man of the Year in Service to Oklahoma Agriculture." Humility, high character and dedication made him a good fit for the Masons where he rose to the rank of 32nd degree and fundraised for the Shriners Hospital. An avid golfer, this particular passion took him to courses across the country and globe. Along with the pure joy he received from play, the game was the start of many cherished relationships. Above all, even watermelon, he loved his family. For every strength he had, his wife, Leona, matched with one of her own and she made his baby blues light up every time he saw her. From the breakfast table to the bank lobby or anywhere else socially acceptable for conversation he was delighted to share about his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Albert and Annie Limon; sister, Thelma Allen; brother, Emerson Limon; son Franklin Thomas Hagerman; daughter Deborah Kay Hagerman; and granddaughter Jaclyn Suzanne Limon. He is survived by his wife, Leona Limon; daughter LaRonda Sue Limon; daughter Dawna Young with Jay Young; son Ronald Jack Limon with Kelli Lene; grandchildren Bruce Cline, Justin Wayne Limon, Crystal Daye Hagerman-Smith with Caitlin Elizabeth Smith-Hagerman, Lauren Elizabeth Leonhard with Nathaniel Robert Leonhard, Justin Cole Yearwood, Sarah Ann Limon and Brody Austin Pempsell; and great grandchildren Tyler Braden Cline, Oliver Jackson Massey and Norah Leigh Leonhard. Services celebrating Jack Limon will be held Friday, June 23 , at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wagoner.
