James "Pee Wee" Harris

James Edward Dwain Harris, better known as Pee Wee, was born on August 19, 1962, to Leonard Dewayne Harris and Patsy Anne Pauline (Scroggins) Harris in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Pee Wee attended Wagoner Public Schools. He met and married Sherry Lynn Choate on December 16, 1983. Together, they built a loving life, raised their family, and shared countless meaningful memories throughout their 42-year marriage.

Pee Wee enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished Golden Glove boxer, a pursuit that reflected his determination and competitive spirit. He deeply cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and was well known for his lively personality and genuine love of having a good time, always bringing energy and laughter to those around him. He loved his family and friends.

Pee Wee departed this life on December 16, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 63 years. Preceding him in death are his parents, Leonard and Patsy Harris; his sister, Patricia Ann Harris; and his brother, Billy Joe Harris.

Those left to cherish the countless memories of his life include his beloved wife, Sherry Harris of the home; his children, Jamie Baucom of Muskogee, OK, James Harris Jr and wife, Amber Scroggins of Decatur, AR, and Christopher Ryan Harris and his companion, Kim Holmes of Wagoner, OK; his grandchildren, Deven Baucom, Jesse James Harris, and Mickaylee Josephine Harris; his brother, Douglas Duane Harris and wife, Debbie of Wagoner, OK; his nephews, Levi Young of Wagoner, OK, and Danny Joe Green; and his niece, Tammie Dawn Harris; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends, all who will miss him greatly.

Pee Wee was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy will continue to live on through the many cherished memories he created with those around him.

The family will greet friends at a Visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 10 am - 12 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor the life of James "Pee Wee" Harris on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm.  The location is pending at this time.  Please check back for updates.

Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Bennett Addition, Wagoner, OK. Casket bearers include Doug "DJ" Choate, Chris Harris, James Harris Jr, Monty "Bronc" Choate, and Eric Harlin.
