The graveside funeral service for Robert Prather will be at 1:30 Thursday in Greenwood Cemetery, Porter, OK. Military honors will be provided by the Donaghe-Elliot American Legion Post 56.

A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, 417 East Cherokee Street, Wagoner, OK.

Family and friends may call for viewing Wednesday from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm and Thursday beginning at 9:00 am.

James Robert Prather was born June 10, 1943 in Waurika, Oklahoma to James William Prather and Ida Mae (Riley) Prather. He graduated from Mary Carol High School in Corpus Christie, Texas. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, earning the National Defense Service Medal. In early years Robert worked in sales, but most of his life he was an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing.

Robert departed this life Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his home in Porter, OK. His parents, James and Ida Prater, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Prather; a daughter, Shawna Reel and her husband, Erik, of Tulsa; a son, Mark Prather of Tulsa; grandchildren, Dylan, Evelyn, Mallory and Madison; stepsons, William Thomas Dodson, Ernest Merle Dodson and his wife, Vi, Leon Jon Dodson and his wife, Sherri and James Phillip Dodson and his wife, Christen; step-grandchildren, Chaney Lynn, Thomas Jeffry, Eric Phong, Leon John, Haley Noel, Taylor and Lili; one sister, Linda Johnson and her husband, Ollen of Porter; a nephew, Mike Wicks; niece, Renee Johnson; five great-grandchildren; other extended family and friends.
