James Lee Shepherd was born February 24, 1951 in Tahlequah, OK, one of eleven children born to Vollie Lee and Florence Nadine (Gatewood) Shepherd. James worked as a repairman in the appliance industry before his health failed.

James enjoyed fishing and camping and liked to watch westerns on television.

James departed this life Friday morning, Mary 26, 2017 at his home in Okay, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Darlene.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved companion, Sue Hall, with whom he shared his life for nearly 32 years; his children, James Shepherd Jr. and wife, Brandy, of Muskogee, OK, Patricia Seaton of Skiatook, OK, Vina Teter and husband, Rodney of Okay, OK, Elizabeth Rose and husband, Billy, of Sand Springs, OK and Nicholas Hall and wife, Lindy, of Fort Gibson, OK grandchildren, Brandy, Courtney, Casey, Adam, Nicholas, Dalton, Samantha and Johnny; great-grandchildren, Phillip (P.J.), Mason and Wyatt; nine siblings and their spouses, Frank and Dorothy Shepherd of Grove, OK, Eva Ussery of Fort., Gibson, OK, Mary Ann and Eugene Stephens of Oakhurst, OK, Ernest and Sunny Shepherd of Tahlequah, OK, Eddie and Dorothy Shepherd of Murphy, OK, Carolyn Herriman of Muskogee, OK, Billy Shepherd of Muskogee, OK, Troy Shepherd of Fort Gibson, OK and Leroy and Bernadette Shepherd of Muskogee, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Cremation is entrusted to Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, OK.
