Obituary

Funeral services for James C. Warner, 66 long-time resident of Wagoner willbe held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 29 at the Church of God in Wagoner with the Reverend Bruce VonWald and the Reverend David Austin officiating. James was born February 13, 1944 in Vinita, Oklahoma to his parents, James and Ersel (Mitchell) Warner. At an early age his family moved to Lubbock, Texas where James grew up and graduated high school. After moving to Amarillo, he met and was united in marriage to Juanita Maxine Meloy on May 30, 1964, a union which lasted 46 years. James worked as an industrial and product painter for Borg-Warner, Ruhr-Pumpen International for 36 years. He also painted many of the homes and vehicles in the Wagoner area. At an early age, James discovered his talent and love for music. He later was a member of the Oklahoma Steel Guitar Association. Devoting his talents to the Gospel, he and Juanita traveled and performed over a large part of the country in a group called the Musical Missionaires with the Reverend Emory Thompson. James was also very involved in his church, serving as Deacon and teaching Sunday school classes. His countless jokes and warm and endearing personality will be missed by all who knew him. James peacefully passed away Friday, Nov. 26 at his home in Wagoner. James is survived by his wife, Juanita of the home; his children, Julie Darlene Austin and her husband, David of Warner Robins, Georgia and Jeffrey Dwayne Warner and his wife, Amy of Wagoner; four grandchildren, Emily Paige and Leslie Nicole Austin and Abigail Blanche and Alexandria Nicole Warner; three sisters, Wilma Faye Link and Wayne of Ceiling, OK, Ruby Nell Alexander and Daryl of Marlow, OK and Ivadale Blumer and Doyel of Elk City, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives, his church family and many friends. The Warner family wishes to thank Pastor VonWold, their church family, and the caring staff of Evergreen Hospice and the wonderful caregivers. Pallbearers will be Jerry Charboneau, Jerry Austin, Chuck Sharp, Jim Mason, Robert Merz and David Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Link, Daryl Alexander, Doyel Blumer, Dwayne Meloy, Don Meloy and Curt Meloy. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations in honor of James Warner may be made to the Church of God, 115 South State Street, Wagoner, OK 74467. Funeral arrangements and interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner are being directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
