Obituary

Orpha Jane (Rosenthal) Lawhorn was born September 22, 1942, in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Freeman Woodrow Rosenthal and Virgie Emiline (Goodman) Rosenthal. After graduation from high school Jane began her work career. She was employed early in the Haney's Five and Dime Store on South Main Street and by Charles Jeffers in the Wagoner County Court Clerk's office. Before retirement Jane was the Secretary to the President at First Bank and Trust in Wagoner. Her family reports that she was the best typist they knew. Whether at work or home she was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be remembered as the leader of the Rainbow Girls organization at the Masonic Lodge in the 70's.

She loved her family most of all and adored caring for her grandchildren. She had many fond memories of time spent with her Aunt Maxine while they made clothes or took a trip to California. She enjoyed all travel, especially to her favorite place, Branson.

Jane met the love of her life, Grady Lawhorn Jr., at the movie theatre. They were married on January 25, 1963 and enjoyed a life together for 60 years while growing their family and making wonderful memories that will sustain the family in the days to come.

Jane departed this life Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Virgie Rosenthal and a grandson, Justin Stamps.

She will be greatly missed by her survivors: her husband, Grady Lawhorn Jr. of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Randy Stamps of Wagoner; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sharon Lawhorn of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Kody Lawhorn-Rosene, Levi Lawhorn, Kayla Burgess, Amber Stamps, Christy Justice and Ronnie Stamps; great-grandchildren, Emiline, Kai, Vivienne, Danny, Steven, Sarah, Brooklyn, Hayden, Emberliegh, Skyla, Bryan, Harmony, Hope and soon to be born, Rocky; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Carolyn Rosenthal of Bethany and Albert and Doris Rosenthal of Wagoner and Joyce and Johnny Carter; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
