Janice Lynn (Steinly) Scott was born to Ira and Helen Steinly in Durant, Oklahoma, on January 10, 1942.  She graduated from Durant High School and then earned her master's degree in education from Southeastern State College in 1965.

Janice married Glenn Scott in 1960 and began her teaching career in 1963.  The couple moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she continued teaching, and later relocated to Bentonville, Arkansas, where she taught kindergarten.  They eventually settled in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where they lived for thirty years.  After retiring, Janice and Glenn built a home at Ft Gibson Lake, where she resided until her passing.

Janice and Glenn were longtime members of First Christian Church in Wagoner, Oklahoma.  She cherished her church and church family and was actively involved in many church activities.

Janice is survived by her two sons, David Scott and his wife, Debra of Longview, Texas, and Brad Scott of Brooklyn, New York; her grandchildren, Reed Scott of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Grace Byers of Lenexa, Kansas.

Janice departed this life on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 83 years.  Preceding her in death is her husband, Glenn Scott.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Christian Church, Wagoner, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Noon.  Reverend Dr. Richard Allen will officiate.
