Janie Mae (Robertson) Reaves was born November 28, 1949, in Wagoner, Oklahoma to William Felix and Katherine (Hensley) Robertson. She made her home in Muskogee, Oklahoma and was employed as a food processor in the poultry industry until her retirement.
In her spare time Janie enjoyed the hobby of bead-working and making many lovely pieces of jewelry while relishing the companionship of her friends with like interests. She was a cat fancier who especially loved her cat, Simone.
Janie departed this life to her heavenly home on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Katherine and three brothers, Leo Robertson, Jay Robertson, and Alan Robertson.
Her family finds comfort in the promise found in the Bible in John 14:1-3. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms…I am going there to prepare a place for you…I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.”
Her three children who survive her include Lora Lynn Vannoy and her husband, Tim Vannoy of Claremore, OK, John David Long of Wagoner, OK, and Ryan Van Esler of Edmond, Oklahoma. Other keepers of her memory include three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026 in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK, where Janie will be laid to rest next to her father.
