Jaulice Jane (Moss) Chalakee was born on April 10, 1941, to Elmer Lee Moss Sr. and Florence (Rutherford) Moss, in Hulbert, Oklahoma. She graduated from Coweta High School in 1960. Jaulice married the love of her life, James Monroe Chalakee Sr. on March 27, 1961, cherishing 63 years together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all.
Jaulice exemplified a life of kindness and devotion, reflecting her deep spirituality through acts of compassion and service. Highlighting her ordination in ministry, December 5, 1988, such as ministering at jails and assisting the homeless with Bibles and prayers. Her love for gardening and crafting complemented her culinary talents, especially in baking delicious biscuits and pecan pie, making her a beloved figure in her community. Her multifaceted interests, from fishing to hay hauling, showcased her connection to nature and willingness to lend a hand, embodying a truly generous woman. Above all, her unwavering affection for her family radiated in everything she did, leaving a lasting impression on those who crossed her path.
Jaulice departed this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Florence Moss; siblings, BJ Moss, Pansy Kelly, Dudley Moss, Ana Jewel Warren-Evans, James (Red) Moss, Utah Moss, Bob Oliver Moss, Elmer Moss Jr. and Leona Vivian Foster; aunt, Clara Rutherford, niece, Velma Louise Swear; Sister in law, Betty Moss; close friends Lou Brown, Bill and Susie Carter.
Cherishing the many memories of her life include her loving husband, James Monroe Chalakee Sr. of the home; her children, James Monroe Chalakee Jr. of Haskell, OK, Holly Ann Presley and her husband, Robert Scott Presley of Coweta, OK, Shawn Legus Chalakee Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Ann of Coweta, OK, Theron Layne Chalakee and his wife, Tami Lucille of Coweta, OK, and Heath Avery Chalakee and his wife, Amera Lacy of Coweta, OK; grandchildren, Tara, Brandy, April, Jayme, Angela, Scottie, Douglas, Little Shawn, Taylor, Cheyenne, Chase, Solomon, and Victoria; great grandchildren, Colton, Raylee, Cooper, Lawson, Blakelyn, Ryker, Rydge, Oaklyn, Jett, Easton, Brodie, Keith, Allyson, Paisley, Zeek, Alisah, and Maliki; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jaulice's passing will leave loving memories for all that knew her. Rejoice for she has made it into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The family will greet friends and relatives at a Visitation on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 5-7 pm, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, Oklahoma.
A Celebration of Life, honoring the Life of Jaulice Chalakee will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at All Nations Seventh Day Adventists Church, in Haskell, Oklahoma. Reverend Clyde Hess will officiate.
Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma, those serving as pallbearers are Shawn Legus Chalakee, Heath Chalakee, Theron Layne Chalakee, Teddy Scott Monroe Presley, Shawn Douglas Chalakee, Chase Evan Chalakee, Brodie Mykel Chalakee, and Cooper Haughn.
