Jay Arthur Shields, 42 of Whittier, California passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Jay was born in Lynwood, California on Dec. 12, 1970 to his parents, Don Carroll and Betty Lu (Brock) Shields. He grew up, graduated high school and attended college in Southern California. Jay worked for several years as a Class A Mechanic for the Metropolitan Transit Authority. He was a collector of comic books and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lu Shields in May of 2013. He is survived by his wife, Tammy of the home; his father, Don Shields of Wagoner; his step-children, Michael and Zoe; his brother, Brock Shields of Tulsa; two sisters, Sierra Uhrig of California and Tracy Whitehead of Sand Springs; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be planned later. Final arrangements were directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
