Jeanetta (Morgan) Banowetz, 87, a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, departed this life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 19, 1939, to Samuel Lee Morgan and Bessie Lee (Williams) Morgan.
Following high school graduation Jeanetta began a life defined by her wide interests. She studied to be a beautician early on, and later went to nursing school. She even provided catering for a time. Her zest for life and love of people fueled the many and varied professions Jeanetta experienced in life. Her last occupation was as a legal secretary.
She was known for her great wit and fiery personality. Anyone who knew Jeanetta loved her and appreciated her caring and loving personality. Her family will be greatly influenced for generations to come by the example of a life well lived. Jeanetta's favorite sport was tennis, and the family reports that she was a very good player. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening and loved to cook. All animals were her friends, especially dogs.
Jeanetta departed this life Thursday evening, July 9, 2026 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Bessie (Williams) Morgan; her son, George Rickey Teeter; daughter, Pamela Teeter; and numerous siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Joy and Virgil Zielke of Collinsville, OK, Victor and Margie Brown of Owasso, OK, Dan and Nadine Brown of Broken Arrow, OK, Sharon and Mike Butler of South Padre Island, TX, Brenda and Gordon Wilson of Broken Arrow, OK, Janet and Denny Williams of Broken Arrow, OK; numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great, nieces and nephews, and several generations forward.
Jeanetta's son, George Rickey Teeter, was born November 2, 1954. He spent his younger years in Wagoner, OK and finished school in Texas. Rickey made his home in several locations through the years, settling in Dallas, TX. He achieved a career in executive sales for Chevron. He enjoyed golf, NASCAR and all sports. He liked to collect sports memorabilia and coins. As a Dallas resident Ricky was a great Cowboys fan, and stayed true to his Oklahoma roots as an OU fan.
Rickey departed this life on his 71st birthday, November 2, 2025, in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, George Teeter; and his wife, Carol Ruth Teeter.
A Funeral Service will be held to honor the life of Jeanetta Banowetz and her son, George Rickey Teeter, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
