Obituary

Jeri Lynn Colston was born July 21, 1955 in Shreveport, LA to Jack Hamby and Dorothy Ann (Pharr) Chambers. She earned an Associate's degree at the University of Dallas. She and husband, Richard made their home in Wagoner, OK since 1982.

Jeri was known by her family, friends and co-workers as a kind person who looked for the good in everyone. They will all greatly miss her.

Jeri had a long career in the medical field. She worked in the offices of a number of physicians in both Tulsa and Tahlequah before her current employment at Wagoner Community Hospital. Jeri was especially talented in dealing with problematic situations with patience and empathy. She could be counted on to always give her best.

Jeri liked to cook and enjoyed visiting with friends. She was an avid fan of all kinds of crafting, including making jewelry and Christmas wreaths. She loved watching the hummingbirds who came to her feeders. Jeri liked to go bird hunting with Richard.

Richard has many fond memories of how the two of them worked to develop the area Retriever Club. She spent many hours working with him in training and testing retrievers as well. She was well known in the United States and in Canada in the dog world. Her own beloved pet was a bichon frise, Izzy.

Jeri departed this life early Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her home in Wagoner, OK at the age of 66 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Ann (Pharr) Chambers, her stepfather who raised her, Joseph Chambers and her sister, Karen Hamby.
