Obituary

Jerry Wayne Keeton passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at The Clarehouse. Born on April 20, 1946, in Warner, Oklahoma, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a notable service in the Army National Guard.

Jerry's love for nature was evident through his hobbies which included fishing, boating, gardening. He loved to cook for his family, especially making his beef jerky, which, according to his granddaughter Kennedy, was the best, despite its spiciness. Jerry cherished his time outdoors, whether it was working in his yard, helping out at the nearby plant nursery during the summers, or enjoying car rides with his wife, Mary, to explore various natural sites. An avid OU football fan, he spent many weekends cheering on his team.

His military service in the Army National Guard was a significant part of his life, reflecting his commitment and dedication to his country.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Shahan Keeton; sister, Linda and her husband Jerry Peck; son, Robert Shahan; daughter, Ashley Stauss and her husband David Stauss; granddaughter, Kennedy Isaac and her husband Aaron Isaac; grandson, Chevy Gailey; and great-granddaughter, Aiden Mae Isaac. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Roxie Keeton.

Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma, is assisting the family during this time. Jerry's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, as a man who was as generous and spirited as he was devoted to his loved ones and his country.

The funeral service celebrating Jerry's life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will follow in Hulbert Community (I.O.O.F.) Cemetery.
