Obituary

Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Brackett, 63 will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma with the Reverend Dale Kerry officiating. Jimmy was born May 23, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to his parents, Jess and Mary (Drywater) Brackett. He grew up and attended school in the Muskogee before enlisting and serving his country in the U.S. Army. He lived with his family in the Sequoyah Bay area near Ft. Gibson Lake. Most of his life, Jimmy worked as a machinist and in the construction of industrial canopies. In his younger years, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Later he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and garage sales, and he became an avid golfer. Jimmy passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at a family home in Wagoner. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ann Buie. He is survived by his siblings, Janice Luster and her husband, Elmer of Wagoner, Gerald Brackett and his wife, Lois of Porter, Jess Brackett of Sequoyah Bay, Irene Woomer also of Wagoner, Wallace Brackett and his wife, Cathy of Waurika, Oklahoma, Rickie Brackett and his wife, Belinda also of Porter and Debbie Ann Cole of Muskogee; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Family members who will serve as pallbearers were Rickie Brackett, Jess Brackett, Chris Brackett, Mike Stevens, Randy Stevens, Rick Tillman and Mary Norton.
