Wagoner

Jimmy Ray Granger lived life the way he loved it, with the sun on his face, music in the background, laughter close by, and the people he loved never far from his heart. An avid outdoorsman, Jimmy departed this life on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 58 years, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a story that will not soon be forgotten.

Born on August 30, 1967, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Jimmy Ray Granger was the son of Don Dow Granger and Betty (Davis) Granger. He was raised with strong roots and attended Wagoner Public Schools, where many lifelong memories and friendships began.

Life changed forever when Jimmy met the love of his life, Kimberly Ann Bogle. The two were united in marriage on December 28, 1988, beginning a beautiful journey built on love, laughter, and countless memories. Together, they created a life rich with family, devotion, and simple joys that meant the most.

Jimmy was a man who found happiness in the outdoors. Whether casting a fishing line, gathering around a cookout with family and friends, or celebrating the Fourth of July, he embraced life’s moments with enthusiasm and appreciation. He loved music that stirred the soul, the excitement of a good rodeo, and the kind of fellowship that came from sharing stories over a cold beer, whether with the guys or simply enjoying quiet time on his own. Known for his humor and confidence, Jimmy never missed an opportunity to jokingly remind everyone that he was “the sexiest man alive,” a saying that always brought smiles and laughter to those around him.

While Jimmy enjoyed many things in life, nothing mattered more to him than his family. He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, always carrying a fierce devotion to those he held close. He was a great man whose kindness, humor, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. The memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Dow and Betty Granger; his beloved son, John Newberry Granger; his brothers-in-law, Larry Moore, Wesley Welch, and Rick Dean; his sisters, Sharon, Mae, Sue, and Essie; and his brother, Bill Colwell.

Those left to cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy of love include his devoted wife, Kim Granger of the home; his daughters, Heather Dawn Granger of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Newberry and husband, Lance Farrell, of Panama City Beach, Florida; his treasured grandchildren, Payton Wayne Granger, Aspen Dawn Granger, Katelynn Newberry, Kyrstie Newberry, CJ Woodard, and Lacy Farrell; his sisters, Brenda Welch of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Joann Dean of Elk City, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Though Jimmy’s chair may now sit empty, the stories, laughter, and love he gave so freely will continue to echo through family gatherings, fishing trips, summer cookouts, and every Fourth of July celebration. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
