Jimmy Dawayne Hicks, 56, departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on September 9, 1969, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Terry Jimmy Hicks and Louetta Fay (Jay) Hicks.
Jimmy was raised in the Tulsa area and attended Tulsa Public Schools, graduating from Daniel Webster High School. He spent his working years employed with Consolidated Grain and Barge in Catoosa, Oklahoma, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
An avid outdoorsman, Jimmy found great joy in hunting and fishing and could often be found enjoying music during his downtime. Above all else, he was known by his family as a true jokester. Jimmy never missed an opportunity to tease and aggravate those he loved, especially his siblings and his nieces and nephews. His playful spirit, quick wit, and contagious laughter brought life to every gathering and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Louetta Hicks; his grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and most recently his uncle, Tim Jay.
Those left to cherish the many memories of his life include his sisters, Christina Berry of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Tammy Collins and husband Dale of Wagoner, Oklahoma; his nieces and nephews, Alisha Berry, Robert Berry, Michael Berry, Terry Berry, and Destiny Collins; along with numerous great nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Jimmy’s presence, humor, and love for his family will never be forgotten. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he leaves behind.
The Funeral Service honoring the life of Jimmy Hicks will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. Reverend Lisa Sowers will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Those serving as casket bearers include Terry Berry, Robert Berry, Alisha Berry, Lester Pratt, Dillon Raffino, and Sid Virgil.
