Jo Ann Cutbirth

IN REMEMBRANCE OF

82 year old Jo Ann (Scott) Cutbirth of Porter Oklahoma who peacefully passed July 12, 2026.

Born March 12, 1944 in Spiro Oklahoma to Mary and Ernest Scott, Jo Ann enjoyed her early childhood and school years around Dallas Ft. Worth and Phoenix areas. Then, in late 1957 Jo Ann met Jess Cutbirth and on June 26, 1958 they wed at the Church of Christ in Poteau and spent their honeymoon in a chicken coop.

Jo Ann was a homemaker who loved cooking, baking, quilt making, doll collecting and making clothes, yard selling, a bit of fishing and her favorite, playing poker. She had an artistic side with paints and colors and liked to write letters and an occasional poem.

But above all, she cherished spending time with family. She found great joy in being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her extended family and those memories created with them will be treasured by many forever.

She is preceded in death by both Parents, one sister Brenda Victory and one brother Roy Tucker. Also preceding her in death is her beloved husband of 50 plus years Jesse Cutbirth, her twin infant sons, David and Marvin, daughter Diane and sons, Jesse Jr and David Cutbirth.

She is survived by brothers Jimmy Hunter of Oklahoma, Richard Sherfield of Florida and one sister Wilma Godfrey of California. She is also survived by four remaining children, eldest son Rickey Cutbirth and wife Teresa; sons Daniel and Randy Cutbirth and daughter Rhonda Cutbirth all of Porter and daughter in law Connie Cutbirth of Muskogee.

Jo Ann's grandchildren include Amber Chism of Coweta, Randall Cutbirth of Broken Arrow, Crystal Branham, Ryan Cutbirth, Jamie Cutbirth, Jonah Cutbirth and wife Hailey, Rickey Cutbirth and Josh Cutbirth all of Porter.

There are numerous great-grandchildren namely Lauren Branham, Bear and Hawk Branham; Liam Chism, Ethan Cutbirth, Reid and Paizley Cutbirth, Alexis and Jesse, Avery and many other family members and lifelong friends like Carmen Echols that fills her memory.

Pall Bearers include Randall and Ryan Cutbirth, Jamie, Jonah and Rickey Cutbirth, and Josh Cutbirth with standby Bear Branham.

JoAnn will be remembered for her loving and unconditional heart, her devotion to family and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Oklahoma. Family and friends will gather the evening before on Monday, July 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home for a visitation.
