John Anderson Jenkins was born March 21, 1929 at his family home near Coweta, OK. He departed this life early Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Muskogee, OK. John married his wife of 65 years, Anna Mae, on August 16, 1949. They enjoyed a long and happy life together until her death November 18 of last year. John was also preceded in death by his parents, Meriwether "Jack" and Martha Ann (Pergason) Jenkins and nine brothers and sisters. Before retirement John was employed at Allied Van Lines and Tasty Bread and later was employed at Muskogee Ironworks for more than twenty-six years. He was a past member of the Ironworkers Union. John loved to dance and enjoyed the old style country music. He liked the outdoors, whether he was working in his yard, fishing, or rabbit hunting. He leaves his family with many fond memories. The survivors include his three children, Larry Gene Jenkins and his wife, Katherine, of Porter, OK, Shirley Ann Graham of Muskogee, OK and Tracy Lynn Bryant and her special friend, Guy Runyon, of Gans, OK; eleven grandchildren; a brother, Andy Jenkins and his wife, Barbara, of Haskell, TX; a sister, Mary Morgan of Artesia, NM; other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Porter Freewill Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Tabitha Bryant, Charles Parks, Richard Parks, Micky Jenkins, Justin Clay, Nick Hensley and Joey Goforth. Honorary pallbearer will be John Jenkins. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Viewing will be Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
