John Walter Lord, a resident of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 51 years old.
John was born on July 25, 1974, in Bixby, Oklahoma, to LeeRoy Lord Sr. and Gladys Nettie (Hall) Lord. He grew up with a love for the outdoors and found great joy in spending time on the water. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, especially when it came to catfish and spoonbill fishing. He also enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle and was well known for turning up his favorite AC/DC songs as loud as possible.
On December 31, 2016, John married the love of his life, Natalie Lynette VanHorn. Together they shared a special bond, creating many cherished memories and building a life filled with love and devotion.
John was a man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and treasured the time he spent with those he loved. His laughter, personality, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeeRoy Lord Sr. and Gladys Nettie Lord; his sisters, Angela Lord and Brenda Lord; and his brother, LeeRoy Lord Jr.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his beloved wife, Natalie Lord of the home; his children, Gladys Lord, Lee Lord, Angela Lord, Johnny Lord, and Dennis Collins; his brother, William David Lord Sr. of Wagoner, Oklahoma; his sister, Regina Lord of Louisiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
John’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and the many stories shared of fishing trips, motorcycle rides, and the unmistakable sound of AC/DC playing in the background. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
