John Tab Ruben Scroggins was born June 21, 1994 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Mickey Lee Scroggins and Angela Lea (Cody) Scroggins. He grew up in Wagoner, OK, attending Wagoner schools and Job Corps.

He was previously employed as a food service manager at Golden Corral. For the past few years John worked in the crate shop for an exhaust fan manufacturer, Acme Engineering.

In his spare time John mostly enjoyed being with his family. He liked fishing and working on cars.

John departed this life Monday, September 19, 2022 near his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 28 years. He was preceded in death by an infant son, John William Free Scroggins; his father, Mickey Scroggins; brother, Mickey Lee Scroggins Jr.; grandfather, Ruben Ray Scroggins; uncle, Ronald "Bub" Cody and second mom, Jerri Ann Baker.

He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Those who survive him include his wife, Stephanie Bentz of the home; a son, Ryan Eli Scroggins; mother, Angela Lea Scroggins of Wagoner; two stepdaughters, Kaytlyn and Ashlyn; two step-grandchildren, Kaizley and Kaiva; sisters, Jeri, Teri, Samantha, Stacy and Lisa; a brother, Nickolas; stepbrother, Nick Baucom; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

The family and friends will gather for a visitation Wednesday from 5-7 pm, with viewing starting at 1 pm.

The funeral to celebrate John's life will be at 2 pm Thursday, September 22, 2022 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The Reverend Lisa Sowers will officiate.

Interment will be beside his son, John William Free Scroggins in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Marc Scroggins II, Nick Scroggins, Chase Scroggins, Keith Wilson, Mike Scroggins, Tristan Baker, Melinda Hicks, Nick Baucom, Brent Ode and Derrick Hurst.
