John Wayne Vunetich was born January 9, 1955 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Joseph Douglas Vunetich and Ann (Pelate) Vunetich Blue. Before retirement John was a roofer employed by Patterson Roofing. He and his wife, Mary Kay Vunetich made their home in Wagoner. In his spare time John enjoyed fishing. John departed this life on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 58 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Vunetich; an infant son, Cory Michael Vunetich and a brother, Joseph Douglas Vunetich Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Vunetich, of the home; four sons and their spouses, Juston Jay and Jennifer Vunetich of Coweta, John Allen Vunetich, Matthew David and Christy Vunetich, and Charles and Stacie Vunetich, all of Wagoner; one daughter, Marie Ann Vunetich of Wagoner; eight grand-children, Courtney, Kayla, Jacob, Michael, John, Kloe, Mason, and Emma Vunetich; his mother and step-father, Ann and Harvey Blue of Florida; a brother, Gary Lee Vunetich of Tennessee; a sister, Sandra Jean Bell of Claremore, Oklahoma; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at a visitation and viewing on Monday from 5 -7 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Mallett Funeral Home with the Reverend Brett Wheeler officiating. Interment will be in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Kevin Bell, Joe Bell, Jerry Gibson, Wes Nash, Robert Ott and Arthur Ott.
