Obituary

Johnny Othel Baker was born October 25, 1952 to Othel and Dorothy (Mullins) Baker. He lived in Tulsa before moving to Wagoner where he graduated from Wagoner High School. He made his home in Hulbert, OK since 1997. Before retirement Johnny was employed as a welder at LaBarge Pipe and Steel for thirty years. Johnny loved to be outdoors, especially while fishing and camping. He liked to collect and shoot guns. His favorite time was spent with family, and Johnny adored his children and grandchildren. Johnny died Friday, March 13, 2015 at his home in Hulbert. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ricky Baker. Johnny's family fondly remembers him for being genuine, kind and generous to others beyond measure. The world was certainly a better place with him in it. Survivors include his son, Jeff Baker of Wagoner; daughter and son-in-law, Jeni and Chris Stamper of Wagoner; six grandchildren, Matayia Baker, Harley Baker, Sidney Tripp, Bryant Stamper, Brianna Stamper and C. J. Stamper; two sisters, Linda Gilliam and Gloria Snow; two brothers, Tom Baker and Joe Chapman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Jason Ashlock, John Hurt, Clint Pugh, Danny Rose, Eric Schnee and Chuck Watkins. www.mallettfuneralhome.com.
