Johnny Dean Thornburg was born June 23, 1978 at Muskogee, Oklahoma to Jacky Ray Thornburg and Cathey Gene (Davis) Thornburg Flowers. Johnny made his home in the Okay and Muskogee communities all of his life. He was previously employed as a machine operator for the Tubular Company and worked as a tire tech. Johnny loved people and could make anyone laugh. His sense of humor was well known by all who knew him. Johnny departed this life at his home in Okay on Saturday evening, July 12, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife, Vina Mae (Kisner) Thornburg, who he married March 5, 1999; by two children, Samantha Nicole and Johnny Ray; his father and stepmother, Jackie and Bonnie Thornburg; and his stepfather, David Flowers, all of Okay; also by two brothers, Ray Thornburg and his wife, Ruby of Muskogee and Colton Thornburg of Okay; one sister, Cora Rose Thornburg of Okay; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Thornburg of Okay; a brother-in-law and his wife, Billy and Elizabeth Rose; mother-in-law, Sue Hall; father-in-law, Jim Shepherd; many other relatives and numerous friends, many whom he called his "brothers with other mothers". He was preceded in death by his mother, Cathey Flowers; his paternal grandfather, Jack Thornburg; by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth Gene and Jewel Dean Davis; one aunt, Bobbie Geen Davis and an uncle, Henry J. Davis. Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at White Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Jacky Thornburg, Ray Thornburg, Erick Smith, Daniel Morton, Gary Wilson, Bobby Reynolds, Kevin Keele, David Campbell, and Jacob Nicholson.
