Joseph Elige McBee was born January 18, 1931 in Alderson, Oklahoma to Lige Joseph and Irene Myrtle (Tate) McBee. Joseph graduated from high school in Crowder, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Ribbon.
In the early 1950's Joseph started his company, the McBee Heat and Air. He enjoyed working and building his business. In his spare time he liked fishing, boating and playing cards. Joseph was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Tulsa for over 30 years.
Joseph departed this life Saturday, December 16, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 28 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lige Joseph and Irene Myrtle McBee; his first wife, Jean McBee in 1992 and a brother, Bill McBee.
Survivors include his wife Lavada McBee, whom he married on January 9, 2003; a son, Michael and his wife, Rena McBee of Owasso, OK; a daughter, Dana, and her husband, Kenny Childress of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Heather, and her husband, Tyler Roberts of Texas, Brandon and wife, Ashley McBee of Collinsville, OK and Jason and wife, Jesse Howell of Ada, OK; great-grandchildren, Victorya, Hunter, Hannah, Easton, McKenna and Corbin; step-children, LaRonda and husband, Larry Powell of Kansas, Larry and wife Sue Arnett and Vicki and husband, Roy Brock of Owasso, OK; seven step-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Greenhill Funeral Home Chapel in Owasso under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.
Private inurnment will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
