Joseph Lee Sherrill was born February 16, 1975 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jess Maven Sherrill and Brenda Gale (Williamson) Dean. He grew up in Porter High School and graduated from high school in 1994. Joseph liked to fish and go to the lake, an activity he and Melissa enjoyed most weekends.

Joseph had worked hard for his CDL license and was proud of his achievement. He was working for Direct Trafficking as a truck driver.

Joseph died as the result of an accident while driving in Deer Trail, Arapahoe County, Colorado on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, stepfather, Mack Dean and a brother, Raymond Vaughn.

Survivors include his mother, Brenda Dean of Porter; his fiancé, Melissa Morgan of Muskogee; a son, Joseph Sherrill, Jr. of Muskogee; two sisters and their husbands, Leanna and Allen Johnson of Porter and Cheryl and Robert Williams of Porter; a brother, Jess Sherrill and his wife, Kathy Guinn of Muskogee; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Henry Lee Stahls will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Porter, following the funeral. Pallbearers will be, Sammy Johnson, Devin Johnson, Jess Sherrill, Robert Williams, Allen Johnson and Ray Peas.

Friends and family are welcome to call between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home for viewing.
