Obituary

Clifford Junior Cantrell was born December 24, 1947 in Tahlequah, OK to Clifford Melvin and Vada (James) Cantrell. He attended Tahlequah schools and attended church at Ray Mission Church where his father was minister.

Junior, as everyone knew him, was a self-employed carpenter and a backhoe operator and ran his own backhoe service.

Junior was a people person who became friends with everyone he met. There were no strangers, and anywhere he went he knew someone. He and his wife, Debbie, had made their home in Okay, OK for the past ten years. Prior to that they lived in Wagoner.

Junior Cantrell departed this life on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK at sixty-nine years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Cantrell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Debbie Cantrell, whom he married in 1988; their son, C. J. Cantrell and wife, Brittany of Okay, OK; Junior's son, Chad Cantrell and his wife, Lisa, of Mounds, OK; his daughter, Kim Boyd and her husband, Russell, of Wagoner, OK; seven grandchildren, T.C. Cantrell, Colton Cantrell, Erin Sexton, Ashton Boyd, Bryar Cantrell, Brogyn Cantrell and Bryleigh Cantrell; two great-grandsons, Trenton Cantrell and Brody Cantrell, and another great-grandson on the way; two sisters, Carolyn Jones and husband, Russell and Glenda Sue; a brother, Gene Cantrell; a number of nieces and nephews; other relatives; a host of friends and Junior's beloved dog, Spike, who went everywhere with him.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday evening for family and friends at Mallett Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Friday at the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, OK. There will be a dinner for family and friends before the service at 11:00 AM at the Wagoner Civic Center. Everyone is welcome.

Interment will be in Boudinot Cemetery in Cherokee County, OK. Pallbearers will be David Hefner, Zebo Barnett, Larry Blevins, John Ward, Ed Hadley and Paul Battenfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Kissinger, Donald Cantrell, Charlie Rovang, Carl Boswell and Art Tackett.
