IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kari Ann
Russell
July 10, 1976 – December 31, 2022
Kari Ann Mace-Russell was born July 10, 1976 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Doug Mace and Pamela Marie (Brummett) Mace. She attended Owasso High School, graduating with honors, later graduating magna cum laude from the University of Tulsa where she studied English.
On January 5, 1998 Kari married the love of her life, Marshall Dean Russell. They shared a life full of love for each other and God, who was very present in their life. Marshall and the rest of Kari's family and friends witnessed her great faith in action every day, both before and during her illness. She was a prayer warrior, and prayed for all those around her who she felt God could help.
Kari's life was a testament to John 3:16 that says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." Her family can find comfort in the knowledge that Kari's life will be an inspiration to others as they continue their life journeys.
Kari worked in human resources. She was employed at Rae Corporation in Pryor, Oklahoma for nearly 20 years before becoming the Human Resource Director at the Church on the Move in Tulsa. Her church family was so important to her, and she was so happy to be there. Everyone who knew Kari loved her. She was not a big talker, but perhaps that is because she was a great listener who really cared about others.
Kari went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. She was welcomed in Heaven by her father, William Doug Mace; her paternal grandparents, Pat and Betty Mace; and her great-grandmother, Ophelia Hartness, who had a big impact on Kari's youth.
Her memory will be forever cherished by those who remain: her husband, Marshall Russell of the home; children, Taylor Renee Russell, Ryan Alexander Russell and Shelby Grace Russell; her mother, Pam Mace; maternal grandparents, Billie and Don Brummett; siblings, Judith Mace, Christie Mace, Joel Mace and his wife, Jacci and Lisa Mace; several nieces and nephews who adored her; a number of aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.
Kari's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at 10 am Saturday, January 7, 2022 at the Church on the Move in the One Eighty Building, Entrance 3. The address is 1003 North 129th East Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
