The funeral service for Kathleen Mae Cole, 76 of Wagoner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Charles Duvall officiating. Kathleen was born August 19, 1932 at her family home in Lost City, OK to Alvie and Opal (Steelmon) Smith. She grew up in the area and graduated from Hulbert High School. Kathleen was married to Eli Samuel Cole on April 11, 1953 in Tahlequah, OK. Because of Eli's military career, they lived in many places all over the world from Lawton, Oklahoma to Germany. Kathleen and her family returned to Northeast Oklahoma to live by Lake Ft. Gibson where she enjoyed fishing. Kathleen worked for 20 years as Deputy Court Clerk for the City of Wagoner and served as Co-Chairperson for the Wagoner County Democratic Party for 9 years. She was also a collector of dolls and enjoyed the excitement of the Casino penny machines. Surrounded by family, Kathleen passed away, Monday, October 20, 2008 at her home near Wagoner. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Lloyd and Grover Smith; a sister, Imogene Norman and by a nephew, Randy Marrs. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Eli Cole of the home; her son, Ralph Cole and his wife, Delisca of Wagoner; a grandson, David Cole and his wife, April of Lost City; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Alison Cole, also of Lost City; two sisters, Virginia Marrs and her husband, Sam, and Sue Butler, all of Hulbert; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers for Mrs. Cole will be David Eli Cole, Samuel Marrs, Russell Marrs, Michael Marrs, Chris Butler and Joe Butler. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hulbert.
