Kathron Bernice Cole was born April 13, 1939 in Coweta, OK to Charles Albert and Susie Mabel (Vaughn) Whittingham. She made her home in Coweta, Porter, Clarksville and Stilwell before settling in Wagoner, OK.

Kathron was a homemaker most of her life, and she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time Kathron liked to crochet and do puzzle books.

Kathron departed this life Sunday morning August 23, 2020 at her home in Wagoner, OK at the age of 81 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Susie Whittington; her husband, Melvin Cole; her son-in-law, David Collins; siblings, Bill, Jesse, Veda, Jack, Wanda, Chester and May and the love of her life, Gerald Fletcher.

Survivors who will cherish her memory are her nine children, Peggy May Brown, Johnny Ray Cole, Troy Lee Cole, Bobby Lee Cole, Susie Bernice Scroggins, Jimmy Ray Cole, Linda Sue Collins, Lisa Ann Risley and Ferlan Allen Cole; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins; one surviving brother and his wife, Charles Albert Jr. and Linda Whittington of North Carolina; extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

The graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Chaplain Bill Holcomb will officiate. Pallbearers will be Buddy Thayer, Devone Myers, Mike Rice, Roy Murray, Jeffrey Helmer and Michael Helmer.
