Obituary

Kathryn Marie Searle was born September 8, 1927 in Sterling, Oklahoma to Samuel Floyd and Agnes Marie (Morse) Stewart. Throughout her life Kathryn was known as the "Cookie Lady" or "Miss Good Cookie" to anyone she knew, because she was a great baker who loved sharing her cookies with anyone she came into contact with. She even had a car license plate that said "Cookie Lady". All her family will remember with fondness the time shared making cookies with her, and they all agree there were none like hers.

She and her husband, William Edward, "Bill" Searle, operated a food service business at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah for the Oklahoma Department of Visual Services. After their retirement the couple moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma about 1994. She continued to look for ways to do something to help others. Besides being a great baker, Kathryn was an excellent seamstress and quilter. She sewed square blankets and donated those to the Animal Clinic to comfort the pets who were hospitalized for treatment. Literally everyone in her family received a quilt for their very own, and all the females in the family received nightgowns she made for them.

Mrs. Searle departed this life Monday morning, April 24, 2017 at her home in Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Searle, in 1997; by both parents; two grandchildren, Michelle Miller and Jody Miller; one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna and Randy Jones of Wagoner, Linda and Glen Pryor of Duncan, Kathy Jo Holland and Jim of Oklahoma City and Bob and Sue Searle of Wagoner; a brother, Wilson Stewart of Silverdale, WA; a sister, Wilma Robinson of Fordyce, AR; grandchildren, Ricky Miller, Lisa Ivory, Gina Sampson, Bill Holland, Khara Holland, Molly Blevins and Jesse Crow and a special family friend who was like a grandson to her, Aurangzeb Baig. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

Viewing will be from 1:00-5:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 AM-7:00 PM on Wednesday, as well as from 9:00 AM-Noon Thursday.

The Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner. The Reverend Carl Tinnea will officiate.
