Kathy Ann (Harris) Moreland was born June 26, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas, to Donald Eugene Harris and Ludie Agnes (Slavens) Harris.  Kathy graduated from Harry Ells High School in 1974 in Richmond, California.  She was married to the love of her life, Mickey Ray Moreland, for 41 years until his passing on October 11, 2023.

Kathy was a vibrant spirit whose passion for drawing, games, and adventure defined her colorful life.  Cherished by her family, she embraced travel, frequently visiting museums to satiate her curiosity about the world.  Her love for her grandchildren was evident, and attending concerts brought her joy, reflecting her free-spirited nature.

Kathy departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital in Muskogee, OK, at the age of 70 years.  Preceding her in death are her parents, Howard and Ludie Spesert; brothers, Martin Howard Spesert and Willima Donald Harris; and sister, Pamela Kay Spesert.

Surviving and Cherishing the many memories of her life include her son, Jason Moreland and wife, Christina of Porter, OK; and stepchildren, Terrel Liles and Stacey of Broken Arrow, OK, Dennis Moreland and wife, Tabitha of Porter, OK, Michael Moreland and wife, Michelle of Muskogee, OK, and Jesse Moreland and wife, Dezi of Braggs, OK, 10 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren; sister, Sharon Gail Tennison and husband, Jerry of Coweta, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.  The impact she had on their hearts and minds will linger, reminding them of the significance of their relationships.

The family will greet friends and relatives at a Visitation on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, OK, from 5-7 pm.

A Celebration of Life, honoring the life of Kathy Moreland will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory.

A committal service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 2:30pm, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Interment will follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, where Kathy will be laid to rest along side her loving husband.
