Kathy Leann Rankins was born on August 7, 1963, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to Sanford Lee Rankins and Dorothy Mae (Sowers) Rankins. She attended Wagoner High School, where she proudly graduated with the Class of 1982.

Kathy has a love for the simple joys in life; she especially enjoyed mowing lawns and working on vehicles.  She often joked and lovingly griped about Jefferey always being on her phone.  Kathy had a special bond with her beloved Pitbull, Tank, who was never far from her side.  Above all, Kathy cherished her family more than anything.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Kathy departed this life on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, at the age of 62 years.  Preceding her in death are her parents, Sanford and Dorothy Rankins.

Those left to cherish the many memories of her life include her children, Toni Rankins of Mesquite, TX, and Jeffrey Rankins of Wagoner, OK, and wife, Shamall McBride of Ponca City, OK; her siblings, Dale Sanford Rankins of Wagoner, OK, Pam James and husband, Terry of Muskogee, OK, and Penny Shelton of Wagoner, OK; her beloved grandchildren, Katrina, Zack, Tyler, Kenneth, Treauna, and Noah; and 9 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Stephanie Shelton; along with other nieces, nephews, and extended family and many, many friends, all who will miss her greatly.

Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  Her family will honor her legacy by holding tightly to the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
