IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Gerald
("Boog") Burgett
August 16, 1953 – March 28, 2019
Kenneth Gerald Burgett ("Boog") was born August 16, 1953 to Ernest and Sue (Otwell) Burgett in Gunterville, Alabama where he lived for 24 years. Kenneth was passing through Wagoner, Ok with Daniel's Construction. Kenneth worked for Daniel's as a welder and pipefitter. His job in Muskogee was for only three months then they were headed to Texas for their next job. Well, that was Ken's plans until he meet Deborah Watkins. Ken said Goodbye to Daniel's Construction and Hello to Debbie. Within two months Ken and Debbie were united in marriage on February 24 in Wagoner where they reside. Ken went to work for LaBarge Pipe and Steel in July of 1979 as a welder and final prep, then finished up his career as a foreman 36 years later. Ken and Debbie have two beautiful daughters. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Some of Ken's favorite things to do were, be in the backyard either swimming, playing volleyball, or playing horseshoes with family and friends. The thing he loved most was being on the water with his closest friends and family fishing, boat riding, and pulling the grandchildren on the tube. Ken loved giving back to the community whether it was cooking his fish at the wild life cookout or cooking for friends and families weddings and BBQ's.
As we all know fishing was Ken's passion in life, Chuck Watkins was his better half/fishing partner, and I was just his wife.
Ken peacefully passed at home on Thursday March 28, 2019 at the age of 65 years. He was preceded in death by his parent's Ernest and Sue Burgett, one brother Sonny Burgett and his in-laws Kenneth and Mary Watkins.
Ken is survived by his wife Deborah Watkins Burgett of the home, two daughters and one son-in-law Michelle Burgett Pitchford of Wagoner, Melissa Burgett Cummings and Lance Cummings of Piedmont, Five grandchildren Maverick and Lauren Pitchford of Stillwater; Lance, Landon, and Lillian Cummings of Piedmont; Five brothers Tony, Manuel, Ralph, Boyd, and William and three sisters Linda, Ernestine, and Susan all of Alabama; five wonderful brothers and sisters in-laws David and Charlotte Cruce, Danny and Gala Watkins, Duane and Lana Watkins, Bobby and Lisa Watkins, Darrell and Bekki Watkins, Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many loving family members and friends. Ken will be greatly missed by all who have known and loved him.
