Obituary

Kenneth "Babe" Carey, 95, passed away on July 29, 2022. He was born April 1, 1927 in Hulbert, OK to Jesse Carey and Lillie Gordon Carey. He attended Hulbert schools and joined the U.S. Navy in 1945, serving aboard the USS Topeka.

He was a turret lathe operator at Bethlehem Steel and an overhead crane operator at Flint Steel Corp. In 1949 he married Patsy Jean Forrest in Sapulpa, OK. He received Christ in his heart in 1975 and has served the Lord with singing and playing guitar in church and so many other ways.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. He is survived by his loving wife Patsy; two daughters, Sheila Hackett of Tulsa and Kenna (Ken) Skillern of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Chris (Penni) Skillern, Kevin (Adrienne) Skillern, Shannon (Rob) Hackett Bowen; and David (Martha) Skillern; five great grandchildren, Naomi, Mary, Flora, Isla, and Molly Skillern.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 2, at Mallett Funeral Home, 417 E. Cherokee St., Wagoner, OK, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Lost City Cemetery.
