IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Jerald
"Jerry" Fields
July 11, 1939 – February 13, 2025
Kenneth Jerald "Jerry" Fields was born July 11,1939 in Richmond, Indiana to Kenneth and Anna Mary Fields. Jerry grew up in Whitewater, Indiana where his life was filled with friends, Boy Scouts, fishing, hunting and basketball.
Basketball was Jerry's love throughout his life. He began playing his freshman year at Whitewater High School and continued through his senior year. His mother saved every newspaper article about the Whitewater Basketball Team. Those articles are old and fragile but tell of a young man who loved the game. He never left basketball, continuing to play in leagues wherever he lived and worked.
Jerry graduated high school in 1957 and moved to California with his parents where he attended and graduated from a two-year college. Jerry met his future wife, Joyce Foster while in California. They were married on February 22, 1964, and thus began a marriage that lasted almost 61 years.
Jerry worked for International Harvester for fourteen years before moving to Wagoner in 1975. In 1982, he became the thirteenth Wagoner County Clerk serving the people of Wagoner County for 22 years.
Jerry served the Wagoner community in many ways: a member of the Wagoner Lions Club for 25 years and as president twice; a Melvin Jones fellow recipient; a volunteer fireman for 22 years retiring as captain; and trustee and president of the Chamber of Commerce. Jerry belonged to the First Christian Church where he served in the bus ministry and stewardship chairman.
Jerry departed this life Thursday morning, February 13, 2025, at the age of 85 in his home while surrounded by his loving family. Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kelli Fields of Catoosa and Jason Fields of Wagoner; grandchildren Chase Fields and Kelsi Fields; sister and brother-in-law Sandra Fields Morris and Duane Morris of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Anna and his younger brother Bill.
