Landyn Jaron Burkley, 8 months old, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was born on October 12, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He was the beloved youngest of three children of Dalisha Danielle Abernathy and Lawrence Jaron Burkley.

Landyn was a remarkable young boy whose brief life touched many hearts with his radiant smile, joyful spirit, and loving nature.  His love for his family was evident in the kisses he shared with his mom and dad, and his excitement in playing with his brother and sister showcased his joyful personality.  He loved to clap along as you sang to him, and he loved to watch Mrs. Rachael. He would also create an obstacle course out of anything he could crawl over or across.  Landyn would light up the room with his beautiful brown eyes and his infectious grin.  His presence brought love and joy to everyone around him, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of all who knew him.

Landyn will always be cherished and remembered by his parents, Dalisha Abernathy and Lawrence Burkley; his brother, Dayton Laron Burkley; his sister, Dallys Lyric Burkley; maternal great-grandmother, Darthula Carter of Porter, OK; maternal grandmother, Marchell Abernathy of Wagoner, OK; paternal grandfather, Larry Joe Berry; his uncle, Dante (Shane) Swanson of Wagoner, OK; his aunts, Damasha Abernathy of Wagoner, OK, Meiacha Burkley of Muskogee, OK, and Terricka Burkley of Muskogee, OK; along with numerous great aunts, uncles; and a host of cousins all who will miss him greatly.

Preceding Landyn in death are his paternal great-grandmother, Betty Jo Burley; paternal grandmother, Meia Burkley; maternal grandparents, Clemetine King and Danny Carter; and aunt, Loretta Riggs.

Although Landyn's tenure was brief, his profound impact on everyone he encountered was truly remarkable.  His warmth, joyful nature left a lasting impression, and he was deeply loved by all.  He will be very, very, very missed, and his memory will be preserved and forever cherished, serving as a lasting tribute to the profound impact he made on those around him.

The family will greet friends at a Visitation on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5-7 pm, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life honoring the life of Landyn Burkley will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.  Todd King will officiate.

Interment will be held following the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Gibson Station, Oklahoma.  Those serving as casket bearers are Dante Swanson Jr., Dalen Jackson, Sam Boykins, and Malachi Burkley.
