Larry James Duvall was born September 3, 1957 in the Oklahoma City suburbs. He grew up in various towns, including Kingfisher, Hulbert, Broken Arrow and Edmond. Joining the United States Army at age 17, Larry served his country from 1974 to 1977 as a tanker. He married the love of his life, Debbie Sowers of Wagoner on October 20, 1978. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage, residing in Wagoner, where they raised two daughters. Larry worked as a cabinet maker and computer-aided draftsman. He was a loving family man and enjoyed the lake, fishing, bike riding, reading, spending time with family and was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Larry is survived by his wife Debbie; daughters Jennifer Holt and Lisa Lyons; their husbands Michael Holt and Thomas Lyons; and four grandchildren, Rylie Holt, Abby Duvall and William and Brynn Lyons.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Duvall and nephew Ronnie Sowers, Jr. Larry was profoundly impacted as a child by his three-year residence at the Boys Ranch Town in Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in his honor to the Boys Ranch Town .
Viewing will be Friday from 11 am to 7 pm, and the celebration of Larry's life will be at 10:30 am on Monday, March 27 at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner followed by interment in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson at 12:30 pm.
