William Larry Wood was born February 21, 1954 in Delano, California to Linal and Lenora (Reed) Wood. Larry attended schools in Shafter, CA where he grew up. He married the love of his life, Gladys Lorraine (Gray) on June 11, 1971. They shared a life together for 51 years.

Larry and Gladys made their home in Wagoner, Oklahoma for the past eleven years. He was employed as a journeyman mechanic, mostly working on agricultural equipment during his career.

In his spare time Larry liked to hunt and trap shoot. He at one time had an extensive collection of guns and enjoyed attending the gun shows. He made custom pistol grips and enjoyed woodworking. Just recently he had taken up the hobby of model trains.

Larry departed this life early Friday, September 23, 2022 at his home, with his family by his side. He had attained the age of 68 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Linal and Lenora Wood and a brother, Linal Wood Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Wood of the home; two sons, William Brandon Wood of Wagoner and Jeffrey Kyle Wood of Bakersfield, CA; one granddaughter, Maya Danielle Wood; a sister, Beverly Marden and her husband, Leo; brother, Wesley Wood, two nephews, Wayne Marden and Garrett Wood; a niece, Allyssa Wood, all of Bakersfield, CA; great nieces and great nephews; other extended family and friends.

The graveside funeral to celebrate Larry's life will be at 11 am Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK.

Viewing will be from 1 – 5 pm Monday.
