Funeral services for Laverne Reeves, 74 of Wagoner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Carl Murphy officiating. Laverne was born June 8, 1934 in Avery, Texas to her parents, Lois Murphy and Ollie Mae Davis. She grew up and attended school in Oklahoma City. A homemaker, she and her husband, James had made their home in Wagoner these past several years. Laverne passed away Friday, Feb. 27 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lee and Milton Davis and her sister, Imogene Brady. Laverne is survived by her husband, James Charles Reeves of the home; their daughter, Malinda Gober of Broken Arrow, OK; two brothers, Derewood Davis of Shawnee, OK and Calvin Davis of Newcastle, OK; her grandchildren, Kevin Gober of New Port, North Carolina, Dustin Gober of Middleburg, Florida and Stephanie Zielinski of Sparta, Illinois; a great-grandson, Dakota James Gober also of Middleburg; numerous nieces and nephew; other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements and interment in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
