Lena Louise Hellinger was born January 12, 1930 in Fort Gibson, OK to Oscar and Eunice (Collins) Owens. She grew up in the Ray community, now Sequoyah State Park, and attended Ray South School, which was located where Western Hill Lodge is now. She married Jake Hellinger June 9, 1945. They were members of the Church of God. Louise was a hard working wife and mother who raised two sons, Mark and Jerry. She was employed as a waitress at Western Hills Lodge for many years and later was a line foreman at Prestolite and worked in a machine shop in an aircraft company in Valley Center, Kansas. Mrs. Hellinger passed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake; one son, Mark Twain Hellinger; and six siblings, Edgar Owens, Sonney Owens, Charles Owens, Dorothy Griffin, Anna May and Josephine Baldridge. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Berniece Hellinger of Wagoner; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hellinger of Wagoner; grandchildren, Christine Hellinger, Justine Boyd and husband, Kevin, Julie Lang and husband, Rick, Kathy Hellinger, Kimberly Dorr and husband, Dennis, and Jerry Wayne Hellinger; eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Lee Seratt of Linden Texas; other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Bill Holcomb and the Reverend Doyle Groat will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daniel Boyd, Nick Orr, Kevin Boyd, Rick Lang, Poss Compton and Maverick Lang. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner.
