Leon Alfred Morgan was born January 19, 1941 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Laurel and Hazel Morgan. He was a 1959 graduate of Wagoner High School and later earned an Associate's Degree from Northeastern State University. Leon served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserve, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer following a career that spanned nearly 27 years. He also retired from management at the Oklahoma Schoolbook Depository.
Leon liked visiting with friends and playing cards and loved to watch football. Leon married the former Barbara Harvey, and they enjoyed thirty-six wonderful years together.
Leon departed this life early Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home in Wagoner, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurel and Hazel Morgan; a son, Christopher Morgan and a brother James Morgan.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Morgan of the home; two sons, Tony and Nelson Martinez of Atlanta, Georgia and David and Anna Morgan of Gossenheim, Germany; a stepson, Jeff Tincher of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Keryl Lyons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Kathy Morgan of Chandler, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jonathon and Alyssa Morgan of Medford, Oklahoma, Jeremy and Megan Morgan of Medford, Oklahoma, Amber Corcorran of Lander, Wyoming, Courtney and Tony Soto of Chandler, Oklahoma, Tyler Morgan of Chandler, Oklahoma, Baylee Morgan of Chandler, Oklahoma and Kennedy Angstad of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Paityn Morgan, Jackson Morgan, Wade Morgan, Maddi Morgan-Soto, Christopher Soto, Connor Corcorran, Quinn Corcorran, and Aiden Cocorran; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, with Chaplain Kirk officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Donaghe-Elliot American Legion Post 56 of Haskell, Oklahoma.
