Leonard Acevedo was born April 11, 1943 in Richland Springs, Texas to Felix and Cirilda (Garza) Asebedo. He graduated from high school in Richland Springs and then served in the United States Army.
Leonard married the love of his life, Mary Lilly (Castillo) Acevedo on April 5, 1965. They shared a wonderful life together and were blessed with five children. Leonard loved spending time with his family and sharing stories with them that they will cherish forever.
Leonard worked in construction in the housing industry before retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, woodworking, building things and barbecuing. He had a friendly nature and liked people, old friends or new.
Leonard departed this life late Monday, August 29, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Preceding him in death were his parents, Felix and Cirilda Asebedo and a brother, Rudy Asebedo.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Lilly Acevedo of the home; five children and their spouses, Felix Acevedo and Stacy of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Joe Acevedo and Lori of Caney, Oklahoma, Sandi Martinez and Victor of Driscoll, Texas, Jimmy Acevedo of Guymon, Oklahoma and Rachel Robertson and Rusty of Nowata, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Margie Rider and Ralph of Norman, Oklahoma; other extended family and friends.
