Linda Ruth Scroggins

Linda Ruth (Fondren) Scroggins passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Coweta Manor in Coweta, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years.

Linda was born on February 16, 1946, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to James Otis Fondren and Hettie (Tackett) Fondren. She grew up with a strong love for family that remained the center of her life. Linda had a lively spirit and enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness and comfort. She graduated from Okay High School. She was of the class of 1964. She married the love of her life, Ruben Scroggins on October 20, 1963.

She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley and loved listening to his music. Linda also enjoyed crafts, playing bingo, fishing, and camping. These hobbies brought her many joyful moments, but nothing compared to the happiness she found in spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment she was able to spend with them.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hettie Fondren; her husband, Ruben Scroggins; her son, Mickey Scroggins; her brothers, Jerry Lee Fondren and Jim Fondren; her sister, Mary Evelyn; her grandchildren, Mickey Scroggins Jr. and John Scroggins; and her great grandchildren, Travis Scroggins and John Scroggins.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Scroggins and wife Maria of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Marc Scroggins of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Melinda Hicks and husband Kenneth of Wagoner, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren who will forever remember her love. Linda is also survived by her sisters, Mary Price of Wyoming, Betty Hollowell of Sapulpa, and Barbara Baker of Texas; a bonus daughter, Danyell Collins; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Linda will be remembered for her loving heart, her enjoyment of life, and the deep love she shared with her family. The memories she created and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 9 am - 5 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.

Family will greet friends at a Visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 5-7 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Funeral Service will be held to celebrate the life of Linda Scroggins on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Pioneer Cemetery, where Linda will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Ruben Scroggins. Those serving as casket bearers included Micheal Helmer, Kasey Hicks, Kayden Hicks, Kenneth Hicks, Little Marc Scroggins, Matt Scroggins, Andrew Scroggins, Nickolas Scroggins, and Skylare Scroggins. Honorary casket bearer will be Ronnie Laird.
