Lois Lillian (Moore) Neel was born June 10, 1932 in Frayser, Tennessee. She moved with her family to Wagoner as a teenager. After meeting and marrying her husband, Marvin Vernon Neel, she made her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lois was employed at Saint Francis Hospital for many years as a nurse aide, mostly working in the surgical area. She later continued her career in health care, providing in home health care. Lois loved to draw and to dance. She was a great singer, and appeared on the radio while living in Tennessee. Her family recalls she was an excellent cook and liked to teach others to cook.
Lois departed this life Friday, December 18, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy L. Moore; her husband, Marvin Vernon Neel; a granddaughter, Lela Neel; four sisters, Agnes Johnson, Lucy Moore, Martha Reinholtz, and Dorothy Hardy; and a brother, Bob Hardy.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Dunnam and her husband, Stan, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Julie Neel; one son, Vernon Neel of Eufaula, Oklahoma; two sisters, Shirley Bacon and Polly Allenbach. Twelve grandchildren: Lisa Neel, Kim Neel, Roy Neel, Jimmy Neel and wife, Natalie, Vernon Neel, Jr., Becky Smith and husband, Solomon, Evelyn Neel, Krisite Dunnam, Nicholas Dunnam, April Dunnam, Ashley Illingsworth and Brandon Illingsworth; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; fifteen great great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Rick Boyne will officiate. Family will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner.
Viewing will be Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, 9 A.M. until 1 P.M.
