Loretta Jean Johnson, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Loretta was born to Ralph and Ida Bell (Shelton) Reeves on June 15, 1938, in Bakersfield, California. She married Bert Homer Johnson on August 31, 1955, in Pinedale, California.
Bert and Loretta had 7 sons and 2 daughters, Bert Homer Johnson of OK, Dennis of Phoenix, AZ, Kimberly of Alabama, Robert of Oklahoma, Terri of Oklahoma, Larry of Alabama, Steve of Oklahoma, and Scott of Alabama.
Loretta, a licensed practical nurse, was known for her compassionate and caring nature. She found joy in helping others and dedicated her life to providing comfort and support to those in need. She instilled strong moral values in her children, and actively guided them towards ethical behavior, emphasizing the importance of both integrity and compassion.
Loretta's strong feelings of passion and pride were central to her identity as a Cherokee Nation citizen, highlighting her deep connection to her heritage and community. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A lover of country music and western movies, she also enjoyed the thrill of thrift store finds. Her nurturing side was evident in her love for growing plants and spending quality time with her children, sharing her skills in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Jim Davis held a special place in her heart as her favorite actor.
Loretta departed this life peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ida Bell Reeves; son, Johnny Johnson; and sisters, Jennifer, Sharon, and Lucille.
Those left to cherish the loving memories of her life include her children, Bert, Dennis, Robert, Larry, Steve, and Scott (Fay) Johnson, Kimberly, and Terri; 32 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Reeves and Tommy Reeves; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends, all who will miss her immensely.
A graveside service, honoring the life of Loretta Johnson will be held on Tuesday, February 18,2025, at 10 am, at Elmwood Cemetery North Addition, Wagoner, Oklahoma.
