Funeral services for Lorry Lin Leland, 60 of Wagoner will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wagoner with the Reverend John Blue officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Leland, Jesse Leland, John Vermeulan, and Robert Leland. Lorry was born August 19, 1950 in Muskegon, Michigan to her parents, John and Betty (Postama) Vermeulen. She gre up in the Bloomington, Indiana area. After 25 years working as a Registered Nurse at the Wagoner Community Hospital, Lorry attained her Master's Degree and became a Counselor in the Geriatric Dept., a position she held for the last seven years. Possessing a golden heart, she enjoyed her work as a nurse and counselor, helping people. Lorry loved to be outdoors, listening to her wind chimes and working in her flower beds. The love she had for everyone was visible in the friendly smile she always wore. With her family beside her, Lorry passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Muskogee. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lonnie Vermeulen and two sons, Jay Carson and Jordan Leland. She is survived by two sons, Justin Leland and his companion, Mauriahh Beezley of Springdale, Arkansas and Jesse Leland of Wagoner; two sisters, Lana VanLewan and her husband, Adrian of Bloomington, Indiana and Linda Byrd of California; a brother, John Vermeulen of Bloomfield, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Paula Wheeler of Martinsville, Indiana; an aunt, Louis Postama; a niece, Wendy Cherry; three nephews, Dirk, Hans, and Garth VanLewan; the father of her children, Robert Leland; other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements and interment in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner will be directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
