Obituary

The funeral service will be at 2 pm Wednesday, January 5 at the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Wagoner.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 7 pm at Mallett Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, where Louetta will be laid to rest beside her husband. The pallbearers will be Terry Berry, Robert Berry, Kenneth Hicks, Kenneth Hicks Jr., Lester Pratt, Alisha Berry, Dale Collins and Kevin VanBrunt.

Louetta Fay (Jay) Hicks was born October 25, 1949 in the beautiful Choska Bottoms area between Porter and Haskell, OK. Louetta married Terry Jimmy Hicks on August 10, 1968. They were married for more than 52 years before his death on May 31, 2021.

Louetta lived in Tulsa in her early years and had made Wagoner her home for the past 22 years. She loved family times and enjoyed bingo, Yahtzee and rummy. When she could, Louetta liked to go fishing and attend garage sales. Her family will always remember how she took care of whomever needed help, especially her mother, Lenora and sister, Lanitta. They will find comfort in the knowledge that Louetta loved the Lord.

Louetta departed this life early Friday, December 31, 2021 at the age of 72 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Hicks, her parents, Louie Ray Jay and Lenora Mae (Eslick) Jay; one brother, Lawrence Jay; two sisters, Latricia Simmons and Lanitta Messer and a nephew, Danny Simmons.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Hicks of Pryor; two daughters, Christina Berry of Wagoner and Tammy Collins and her husband, Dale Collins of Wagoner; a brother, Louis Timothy Jay and his wife, Lena of Tulsa; a sister, LaRonda Kennemer and her husband, Jackie of Sand Springs; grandchildren, Shawn Shell, Alisha Berry, Robert Berry, Michael Berry, Terry Berry and Destiny Collins; fourteen great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, other extended family and her friends.
